New Wheels for Cascade Bicycle Club... Literally

Cascade Bicycle Club (CBC) is working on a long-range, strategic plan to transform the Pacific Northwest region through safe cycling. This includes building out a member clubhouse with classroom space and a training center located near the popular Burke Gilman bike trail. Last fall we created a temporary banner for the exterior of the building as well as a bright blue focal wall with the CBC vision statement, “Bicycling for All”, prominently featured.

Soon, the CBC interior graphics will include a fleet of bike wheels with the names of CBC supporters and benefactors integrated into a wall installation. Actual bicycle wheels received a powder coated finish and are mounted to the wall. Donor names are laser-etched into wood panels that are then mounted to the bicycle wheel. There is room for expansion as more contributors participate in the giving program. Bicycle wheels that are waiting to be claimed have mirrors rather than wood panels to engage potential donors.

CBC supporters are the wheels that keep this organization moving and the installation is a fun, memorable way of recognizing their efforts and contributions.
